What we repair

Four machines, one specialism

Built-in Sub-Zero refrigeration is all we work on, which is why the diagnosis usually lands on the first visit rather than the third.

  • Dust-clogged condenser coil and fan behind the base grille of a stainless refrigerator, vacuum hose and brush ready

    Refrigerator Repair

Built-in and integrated Sub-Zero refrigerators that run warm, cycle without stopping or hold uneven temperatures between shelves.

    • Fresh food side sits around 50°F overnight while the freezer stays rock solid.
    • The compressor never shuts off and the grille area feels warm to the hand.

  • Close-up of the magnetic gasket along the edge of an open stainless-fronted door, chilled compartment behind

    Freezer Repair

Freezer columns and drawers that frost over, thaw at the edges or short-cycle their way through a Puget Sound winter.

    • Everything has a soft coat of frost on it and the ice cream has gone slushy.
    • A slab of ice keeps forming under the bottom basket no matter how often it is chipped out.
    See what this involves
  • Hands drawing a half-full ice bin out from under the ice-maker head of a built-in stainless column

    Ice Maker Repair

Clear-ice and standard Sub-Zero ice makers producing hollow cubes, frozen blocks, off-tasting ice or nothing at all.

    • Cubes come out hollow and about half the size they used to be.
    • The bin fills with one frozen block instead of loose cubes.
    See what this involves
  • Digital thermometer probe resting on a shelf of an undercounter wine cooler stocked with bottles

    Wine Cooler Repair

Dual-zone wine storage that drifts off setpoint, sweats on the glass, vibrates the rack or throws a flashing display.

    • Upper zone reads 52°F when it is set to 45°F while the lower zone holds fine.
    • The unit hums far louder than it used to, most noticeably in the evening.
    See what this involves
  • Same day on most Edmonds calls booked before 11am
  • $89 service call, credited against an approved repair
  • 1 year warranty on parts fitted and labour

Sub-Zero Wine Cooler Drifting Off Temperature in Edmonds

One zone reading four degrees warm while the other holds fine is almost never a dead compressor. Here is what the drift is actually telling you, in the order a technician checks it.

How a call runs

Three steps, no surprises

The whole point of a flat $89 service call is that you know the number before you agree to anything.

  1. A flashlight aimed at the service valves while a probe is held against the copper line of a compressor

Tell us what it is doing

Model number off the frame, plus the actual behaviour — temperatures, sounds, how long it has been going on. That alone usually narrows the fault to two or three candidates before anyone leaves.

  2. A manifold gauge set held in front of the exposed condenser and compressor of a built-in unit

    Diagnose it on site

Compartment temperatures logged, sealed system read under gauges, defrost circuit and controls tested in sequence. You get a cause with evidence behind it, not a guess dressed up as one.

  3. A replacement condenser fan motor held beside the old one at the open machine compartment of a refrigerator

    Fix it and prove it

Price agreed before anything comes apart. Afterwards the unit is run back down to spec and the readings are shown to you, so you are not taking the result on trust.

Fixed once, explained properly

4.9 / 5951 reviews

  • Empty bin, no ice, and the panel gave nothing away. The ice level sensor had fogged over, so the machine believed it was already full. Cleaned and realigned, and it has kept up since.

  • Humming loud enough to hear from the next room, always worst in the evening. A cracked compressor mount and a fan blade catching its shroud, both dealt with in one visit. The window slipped two hours.

  • Our 700 series ran non-stop from spring onward. The condenser was packed solid — salt air off the water, apparently. Cleaned and tested, and it has cycled normally since.

Before you call

Questions we get most

How quickly can someone get to Edmonds?

Downtown Edmonds, Westgate and Seaview sit inside the daily route, so a call placed before late morning usually gets a same-day window. Perrinville and the north end are normally next-morning at the latest.

The fresh food side is warm but the freezer is freezing. Is the unit finished?

Almost never. On a dual-compressor or dual-evaporator Sub-Zero those two compartments are cooled independently, so one warm side points at that circuit alone — its evaporator fan, its defrost heater or its thermistor. It is a repair, not a replacement.

Do you take integrated panel-ready units out of cabinetry?

Yes. Integrated columns and undercounter units get pulled and reset properly, with the panels and hinges reindexed afterwards. A lot of Perrinville and Westgate kitchens are built this way and the cabinetry comes back unmarked.

Does the salt air off the sound actually damage anything?

It shortens the life of condenser coils and fan motors, particularly in the older Bowl homes a few blocks from the water. Coils clog faster and corrode at the fin edges, which shows up first as a unit that runs constantly in warm weather.

What does the visit cost before any parts are involved?

An $89 service call covers travel and the full assessment, and it comes off the repair in full if you approve the work. The repair price is quoted and agreed before anything is dismantled or ordered.

Which Sub-Zero equipment do you work on?

Built-in 600 and 700 series, Designer and Classic columns, integrated IT models, undercounter refrigeration, standalone ice machines and both single and dual-zone wine storage.

Tell us what it is doing.

Model number and the symptom is enough to start. Call it in, or pick your own window on the booking page — $89 service call, credited to the repair.
