Why only one brand

Sub-Zero built-ins are not general appliances with a nicer door. Dual compressors, dual evaporators, separate defrost circuits, control boards that report faults in codes most technicians never learn to read. Someone who sees four of them a year will guess. Someone who sees four of them a week will not.

That is the whole argument for specialising. The diagnosis lands on the first visit, the right part is usually already on the van, and you are not paying for a second trip to confirm what the first one should have found.

What Edmonds does to refrigeration

Proximity to the sound is the local variable. Salt-laden air pulls through condenser coils every time the unit runs, and in the older homes down in the Bowl those coils clog and corrode noticeably faster than they do five miles inland. The symptom is rarely dramatic — a unit that runs and runs through a warm week, a compartment that drifts two degrees in the afternoon, a compressor that feels hotter than it should.

Caught early that is a cleaning and a fan motor. Left alone for two summers it becomes a sealed-system conversation, and those are the expensive ones. Which is why we would rather look at it while it is still annoying you than wait until it stops.

How we price

An $89 service call covers travel and the full assessment, and it comes off the repair in full the moment you approve it. The repair itself is quoted before anything is dismantled or ordered. If a unit is genuinely not worth repairing — it happens, usually on very old sealed systems — we say so and charge you for the service call only.
